Own this vehicle new in March 2000. Bough it in Puerto Rico, since then it allways have a pinging noise, mostly when step in acelerator in low speed and when start to climb hills and ask for more power.
Dealer says to change gas for 93 octane fuel, user car manual states that a 87 octane gas is proper. Either type of fuel dont eliminate the problem.
Now took it to be analyze, because have the engine light indicator on, they say have the 1 and 2 bank System Lean taking air tru the Plenum.
In daily tru trafic during the ride ( stop & go ) low speed when the transmission change gears, after decelerating it makes a bumping movement, hesitation.
With the pedal brake depressed you feel the hesitation, trying to go off the engine.
The diagnosis presented cost aproximatly $350.
I want to know if that is fair and will correct the problem.
