I am wanting to get a new Hummer H3 but know nothing about the vortec inline 5 cylinder engine. Can anyone help expand my knowledge on this particular engine especially the endurance, mechanical aspect, and maintenance. I have never owned an inline engine but know the inline 4 in the Jeep is pretty much bullet proof so is this true as well of the inline 5? Also any H3 owners please speak up and let me know your opinion of the vehicle. I like the looks, ride and offroad capability so just want to learn about the engine.  

I also have my eye on the H3 Hummer though I dont know much about this vehicle and the engine that is breathing life into it. I have read alot about H3 but I would really like to hear from someone who owns one.
