peugeot 405 losing oil. spitting around dipstick.

hi, my peugeot  405 ( 1.6, petrol, manual ) is loosing oil. seems to be quite alot on the engine, and when the engine is running, the oil is spitting around the dipstick.

any ideas
/??

Could be a bad PCV Valve. This should be located on the valve cover.
