Kenwood is now offering what it calls the first HD radio "in the industry built from scratch." The KTC-HR100TR HD radioâ„¢ tuner connects to most Kenwood in-dash receivers. The multicasting feature of HD radio allows the simultaneous broadcast of three or more independent audio and text streams on a single FM frequency and will indicate the station name and name of artist and song title on the head unit display. Multicasting also allows a radio station to broadcast multiple genres of music as well as weather and traffic information from a single FM frequency. According to Kenwood, there are currentlly more than 500 stations nationwide using HD radio technology and hundreds more are expected to be broadcasting by the end of 2005.

What do you think? Will HD Radio encourage you to shut off your CD changer and listen more to FM radio?
