2004 Pontiac Vibe (Toyota Matrix). 7,000 miles. Notice when car parked in garage, key off, that the door ajar light stays DIMLY on...so dim can only see inside, not if car parked outside. When Start car, door ajar light works fine, lights up if a door is open, goes off if all doors and tailgate closed.

Took to dealer, they had it all day, said it was the drivers door switch. I didn't believe that, as when you pushed the button with hand it all worked properly, except the light would stay dimly on if car was turned off. Anyway they ordered switch, 2 weeks later replaced it. I got car, it appeared fixed. Stopped on way home , at Home Depot, used passenger rear doors and tailgate. When I got home in garage could see light was still on very dim when car turned off...BUT when you start car light goes off and on properly (if a door is opened).

Called dealer, they want it back next week for another day to try to diagnose problem .

Any ideas? I don't see a switch on the tailgate to try..but tried all door switches they seem okay..can't imagine where the tailgate one is.
