Would appreciate advice on mid-size sedans. We have a full size gas guzzling truck we love and won't give up but need something for when we just want to go on a trip or drive without having a gas tanker following us. We are torn between Hyundai's Sonata or Nissan's Altima. Have tried the 2006 Sonata and you seem to get a lot more features included as standard than the Altima. BUT the Altima is very nice. Have read reviews on both and they both are good. I suspect maybe the Sonata is not as good quality?? But you really seem to get a lot more for your money. And there are a few things I like better about the design of the Sonata. But there are also some things in the Altima I like better. So, bottom line, which is the better car?? Which one, which one? Help! Thanks.............very baffled buyer

For the last 7 years I've driven a Jeep Cherokee that I still own, love the truck but like yours, it's a gas guzzler and honestly it was time for a little more comfort. Now I don't know about the Altima but I've test driven the Charger and the Pontiac G6. After talking with a couple of buddies of mine, one suggested the Sonata. Hyundai? Huh? I said what the hell and did some research. Quality's high with Hyundai these past few years, warranty's the best you'll find and with that, I test drove one. I enjoyed the room, the quiet and the power. I bought the GX. With heated leather, sunroof, telescoping tilt wheel, tons of room and a smooth V-6 I was hooked. I payed just over 22K with rebates. So with what, 6 air bags, Electronic Stability Control, ABS, Traction Control, V-6, 5 speed auto you can shift, nice 17" wheels you can't beat it. I drive mostly stop and go so mileage is about 22mpg and high way I got about 28, it's only got 600 miles on it so it's not broken in yet, should get better. Buy it, you won't regret it. Oh yeah... it's built...at least most of it in Alabalma... America.
