I have a 2003 Z-66 Chevrolet Avalanche with 75,000. I have an electrical problem - sometimes the steering feels slightly stiff, the a/c will only blow cold if the truck is moving, and the idle slows down - that is not always 'there' - and now my automatic transmission will not shift in to 3rd. Any thoughts as to whether the two issues are related?

Could be a computer problem... might need your computer reflashed.

I own a 03 Avalanche Z71 with 36500 miles which has some of the same problems. The a/c problem seems to be resolved by changing the fuel filter and running some injector cleaner through the system. Since the a/c compressor only kicks on when the RPM's are >500. The idle fell below 500 and the truck felt like it would almost stall out before changing the fuel filter. As for the stiff steering, I'm having the same problem now and of course I didn't get an extended warranty.
If you find out the problem of the steering please post it. Thanks
