Did that spring fix you transmission problem I just bought a 2000 Lincoln ls and it's doing the same thing plz let me know if it worked.  

Help i have 2000 lincoln ls , it drives in 1st-3rd, bearly moves in 5th 4th and reverse. the rpms go up but car does not move.i have no lights on like check transmission , or anything, i can tell u that i can start up driving it in 1-3 and once i hit 55-60 i throw it into 5th gear and it drives fine,, (it is a automatic) i took it to shop and wanted to do a over hall, im not gonna do that when i know it doesnt need it, can anyone help with this? really would like to save some money. any ideas or options would realy help me out alot. i could use any ideals thank. my email is tru_player20@hotmail.com thanks  

The direct drum is applied in reverse,fourth and fifth. Its probably burnt. You most likely need an overhaul. How many miles on it?  

Hey I live in Tampa, and i just got my 2000 ls and when i turn it on it wont move. i can shift but it doesnt change gears. Do you think i need to just replace the whole transmission.  

You need to describe the problem better .What happens when you put it in gear nothing...like neutral? How about reverse?  

Hello i am about to buy a 2000 lincoln ls it has a tranny problem i can only drive the car with the 1-2-3 when you put it into reverse or drive 4 or 5 and rev up the car it wont go anywere does anybody know if the 4-3 spring will work or what i should do thanx you can e mail me at r.hurley62@yahoo.com  

After further discussion via email with tru_player20 he has the same problem you do.Its a bad front sprag {not the direct drum}.The trans still has to be removed to fix it.  

440t4, were you able to confirm that tru players front Sprag was definitely the issue and the problem is now fixed?   I have the same exact issue but the transmission place is telling me I'm wasting my time.  Also, what should a repair like this typically cost?  Thanks any help is appreciated.  

The sprag is a one way clutch inside the transmission. The trans has to be removed and partially disassembled to replace it. If you have a lot of miles on it you should have the whole trans rebuilt while its already out of the car.I didn't work on tru_players trans but i have worked on many of those trannys and i have seen many bad sprags in them.Its not unusual. I think they meant you are wasting your time if you think its going to be a simple quick fix.  

I got a 2000 ls car go into gear but want go anywhere dose anyone know what it can be ? Took it to tranny shop said my be toqure converter  

Can u help me I have the same problem but now my car want drive it goes into gear but want move it move a little but thats it tranny shop say it may be the torque converter I dont know yet he's going to call me today can u give me a ideal what it can be
