its just my opinion, but i prefer american cars over anything else. the germans make decent cars, but they dont last long, and most are butt ugly. japanese cars are bland with nothing going for them but reliability and a long life. american cars are stylish, most have decent-very good interiors, they come with plenty of standard power that is enjoyable to listen to, and they are the best buy for the money. just look at the corvette, it races alongside ferraris, but only costs 60K. Im not saying other cars are bad, im saying that i prefer american cars over anything else.

American cars are the cheapest, ugliest, slowed peices of crap the world has seen to date. As a driver of a Hyundai Santa Fe, I can say that communists make a better automobile that any freedom fighting American. My previous car was a Ford Taurus sedan. Being a 2004 and I still managed to spend 5,000 on it in on year. Would it kill somebody to make half decent vehicles in America?

Theres a perfectly reasonable explination for this "fact". The only reason why there are more deaths caused by foriegn cars is becase they last long enough on the road to acctually kill somebody. You buy a GM a.k.a S H I T B O X E S, the *** things wouldn't last long enough to end up being in an accident cause by someone else but cause the accident itself.

wow you have some anger issues that you need to work out, Range Rover is still a huge competitor in the luxury market and nothing hardly has changed except that they have been slightly modernized and to most of the people who are not mentally challenged they look and drive great! Why do you think BMW sold the company....because the vehicles werent selling.

American made cars are pieces of you know what....hands down. They look cheap, made with cheap plastic interior parts, ride is cheap, and its cheap... and you get what you pay for.

European cars are the best. Look original, unsurpassed quality on many levels...and for that yes you pay a price.

The market has shifted...so much that American automakers are trying to compete with European manufactures...what a joke. The biggest joke I have ever seen has got to be the piece of crap cobalt.

LOL you guys should go visit one of the GM plants. The workers love their cars….its all they will drive. WHY???? What they heck is so fun about driving a matchbox on wheels. I guess for some driving is from point A to point B… and why need a lavish car. For heaven sakes people get a real car. When you sit in a Euro car you will understand and never look back.

i totally agree that euro cars are better than american cars.  Majority of foreign cars are safer and hold a better value than american cars. Let it be known that in the class of midsize car, the only car to get 5 star crash rating across the board is the hyundai sonata.  The next closest car is the obvious honda accord or toyota camry.  And when it comes to luxury, there is no comparison.  American cars have to do something quick because cars like vw, audi, bmw, mercedes, acura, and porshe are amazing. And they are worth the cost.  If i could increase my likelyhood of living in a crash by paying an extra 10,000...i would do it in a second.  To me there is no comparison between euro cars and american.  Luxury, safety, and value are all found overseas

Ive owned 4 american cars and i just bought my first import a week ago. I bought an 03 WRX Litchfield impreza. It is alot faster than the american cars ive owned. My 98 Camaro is sitting in my driveway with a for sale sign now. So as for the question "Do american cars suck?" My answer is yes they do. If they didnt i wouldnt be selling my camaro.

I agree that the 90's japanese cars had america by the throat, but now the 3 US car makers are catching up.  The styling is definitely catching up (in my opinion) and the reliability has always been good-go ahead and say they suck, but 2 and only 2 cars have been documented to 1 million miles - both american, and our personal silverado has nearly 300000 on the original engine, and a friend of ours has 465000 on his.

Also dont compare a ferari, lamborghini, or rolls royce to the american manufacturers, because the most expensive american car doesnt cost as much as the cheapest one of those.

I think its funny how people say they suck to bad, well next time your car breaks down, take a good look at who makes the tow truck thats towin it into the shop.

I am a computer system specialist for all makes of car and trucks. Buy American! To fix an import cost more than most peeps expects. The cost to repair must be indexed with the cost of owning because to be competative I have to buy special equipment, infomation and after the diagnosis, by the very expensive part to keep an import going. There are so many more american cars older than 20 years then there will be imports because the parts are easy to locate, cheaper and as i have found with hte aftermarket side of repair, more reliable, lasting longer.

A technicians point of view, remember I diagnose your cars computer systems and I will charge you more if your car is a terror to get parts, info for.. In my shop right now is a 1991 Benz, 500SL. Engine idle and engine accessories control module $5800 There are more modules on this car commanding serious coin. This car sold for $89000 but is worth very little till a module in provided

american cars are faster and just as fuel effient. where u foreign dudes are getting your statics is from comparing a work truck to a luxery car. i hate to say this but... well actualy i love to say it. in luxery standards cadillac cars beat the crap out of any foreign luxery car. it is unfair to compare a leaf spring suspension to a coil. a truck is made to haul and pull stuff where a coil is made for a smooth ride. thats like comparing a airplane to a submarine. they are both used for 2 completely different purposes. you wouldn't use a coil to haul 50 hay bails just like you wouldn't put leaf springs into a luxery car. and as for speed a chevy small block would beat any honda engine out there in the quarter. porsche engines cannot come close to the power out put of a chevy small block. it has more torque and horsepower than foreign engines. plus there are many places one can go to repair or replace any chevy small block part, unlike a foreign car. it is expensive and time consuming process. the acessibility of parts makes american cars worth more than forign cars alone.

I have a '97 Dodge Stratus that my dad drove the hell out off before i got it.  This car has been in 3 accidents, is pushing 190,000 miles, and has to put up with Michigan winters.  This car has been through hell and back and the engine is still solid as a rock.  Ya sure it doesn't shift as smoothly as some fancy Lexus and no it doesn't get the mileage of a Honda.  But you know what, this car doesn't show a bit of age where it counts.  This car will be running for at least another 30,000 - 50,000 miles.  Now let's look at my friend's '89 Honda Accord, the thing idles at about 2,000 rpm and he's owned it for less than a year.  This car has half the miles of mine and it's had twice as many problems with it's engine.  I like foreign cars and all, but if I gotta choose between a Lancer and an Impala, I'll take the Impala.

I will level with most of you! Yes we definitely have to express what kind of luxury car is being compared to what. An apple is not an orange.

I have been in a Cadillac Escalade and I was horrendously disappointed. Again cheap rickety dash, door panels, and overall poor material quality. But then again I would buy a CTS or STS. The drive was smooth, quiet, had great acceleration, interior quality, and it looks sharp. So my point would be that any "car" with these high quality characteristics would be a luxury vehicle comparable.

Trucks are another category. A luxury truck? ehh kind of takes the fun out of a good old fashioned off the read, can take a good beating, kind of ride. Right?

Lets be easy on trashing cars…..for some a cheap ride is all one can afford.

Like i said before for some a car, SUV, or truck may only be to get from point A to point B- quality shouldn’t matter.

I love my BMW. No car I have ever been in has such a characteristic look and the brilliant "driver oriented" dash. It looks and feels like no other- that’s the beauty in it. And of course not to mention the very high quality interior leathers and plastics.

American cars are far superior to all others, many aspects of cars are opinionated, but american cars still win. Japanese cars are some of the ugliest things i ahve ever seen, the motors sound like an angry wasp, the top ends dont come with much, but they have nondescript styling, which apparently attracts people. I dont see why, I prefer cars that stand out and turn heads. Japanese cars also have great reliability, and decently equipped for low prices. German cars are bland, overpriced, heavy, usually underpowered, and have few gadgets for the price. However, they are luxorious, sound good, not as good as american, but still good. and look better than japanese cars.
