Hey I'm probaly getting a new car this December, I need a new car that looks sharp, I have a red nissan pulsar which I'm going to trade, which looks great! But anyways I want it to look nice 05 ot 06 car, but the problem I need a good GPS car navigation unit on it. My major is sociology/criminal justice and my job is probaly going to have me traveling a lot. So I just need a car with a good GPS unit, probaly under 30,000. I read about the other GPS units in stores that sometimes aren't reliable and only have certain streets in certain citys, I really don't want this problem. Or should I buy it indepently like I heard of alpines GPS units(http://www.alpine-usa.com/) and pioneer GPS unit s and etc. I just need something reliable that will not get me lost, and will take me directly to the location I tell it to take me like a house. ALso it will be great if I can update the maps. I would not mind it coming with my car, or I can buy it indepently. Thanks and God Bless

Nissan Altima or a Maxima. You will probably have to order it to stay under 30K. It will take three months to come in. Check out leases since you will be using it for work. You can go as high as 30K miles a year.

Okay yeah that is a good option, I was thinking of getting a Hyundia XG350 2005 and putting the new pioneer avic n2 with the live traffic thing in the car, would that be a smart route? Is the pioneer GPS unit reliable?

If you really want to find out if the Alpine is any good. Go to a local Best buy or Circuit City. They will guide you in the right direction. As far as the car goes, I would not recomend a Hyundai. The resale value is the worse. Not a good investment. I sale Mercede-Benz and Rolls Royce. I see alot of frustrated clients who have purchased the Hyundai. You get what you pay for. The biggest bang for your buck is a Nissan or Toyota.
Check out http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/recalls//Index.cfm. You can find out everything you want to know about the integrity of any product.

The new car is up to you, but I HIGHLY recommend a GPS automotive unit from Garmin. I purchased a low end model for about $400 last month and am amazed by how well it positions me and how Garmin notifies me when software for both the unit and mapping is available.
GPS will be/should be standard equipment within 5 years.

A friend of mine recently got a Tom Tom GPS unit. It's portable and can go from car to car. Directions are verbal (choose the voice). He's pleased with it and it may not be as expensive as the Alpine or Pioneer unit. Another possibility to look into is the Eclipse Commander. It's the size of a head unit and fits in the dash. It talks you through the trip too.

This is probably a little late - but the Acura TSX might be worth looking into.
