Anyone know of or have experienced master cylinder and electrical issues with the 1994 Cutlass Supreme S? I purchased mine in 2002 and have gone through 3 master cylinders and have had various electrical problems such as dash shorts (ABS light usually stays on..etc.) and now my inside lights on my rear view mirror will not turn off when car is driven yet shut off when car is turned off. I plan to cut the wires to avoid the problem continuing. I don't need reading lights anyhow.
The master cylinder issue (i have been told) is in conjunction with my brakes letting go and lurching forward while at a stop.
New problem: Transmission seems to be slipping while on freeway. Thats the only time I notice it happening.
Anyone? Anyone? Feedback appreciated. Please email me. Thanks!

Yes, I bought my '94 Olds new, and it has had some quirks. After 40,000 miles the transmission started slipping, and my dealer worked an arrangement with the Olds regional office to replace it at no cost, although it was well past warranty. Apparently that Olds was famous for transmission failure. At nearly 90,000 miles, the replacement transmission has been fine. Also, the circuit board that processes my dashboard indicators has been acting up for years -- showing low coolant when there's plenty, indicating the need for engine maintenance when the experts say there's no need, etc. To replace the board is hundreds of dollars, so I live with that quirk. I had to replace the master cylinder (once) at 80,000 miles, which seems reasonable to me, but I have had to replace the alternator twice, at 44,000 and 68,000 miles.
