occassionally,  not often,  on startup, engine starts and runs 5 - 10 seconds  then everything just shuts down.  restart attempts for several times gets same results.  eventually the vehicle starts and continues running on next attempt.   I can go under the hood remove the charge relay, and engine will start,  no charging at this time.  I have replaced this relay. I have also switched the relay with identical relay from relay box.  the relay works fine in other slots. Would this be a voltage regulator issue, or is there something else that I can check into.  This sound a little like the engine stall recall item for the 1995 rodeo.  that had electrical issue with the alt/gen/regulator.   I have replaced the alternater  ( 4 years ago ) .  

Contact Isuzu and see if there was any recall's.  Thats where I would start.
