Stuff i liked:
- Shows the radio stations above radio buttons.
- Auto Head lights ( I think).
- Auto Gauge Light Up when it gets dark ( with unique colors and a light glow )
- Auto-Stick drives with a sporty feel.
- Informative gauges and button resets.

Stuff I DIDNT Like:
- Chair movement ( mix of electronic, manual seat slider, and electronic tilt )
- Knob to adjust side view mirrors
- Driving Impression was weak
- Handling, was not impressed.

A co-worker of mine deemed the Jetta the ultimate chick car, claiming to never have spotted one male in the driver's seat.  What gives?  It's just a sedan.

well, let's see, I own one of these. I also have a TT 3.2 DSG, and didn't feel the need to have another world-beater car, but I didn't want a total slouch or boring sedan. That pretty much eliminated everything from Japan in the under-25K category, and maybe in every category. I have been driving german cars for quite some time, and have given an undue portion of my income to the VW/Audi group, with a few BMW's sprinkled in the middle. overall, the VW cars have been more satisfying, despite that great BMW drive and feel.

All that being said, I really appreciate the Jetta. most reviews fail to mention all the cool stuff that VW has thrown in for free: rain-sensing wipers, auto headlights, self-dimming mirrors, air conditioned glove box and center console; a cool hook in the trunk that hold grocery bags and doesn't let them fall over; four-window auto-up/down; and a really cool feature: the radio doesn't go off until you pull the key out of the ignition. so if you're deeply fascinated by some NPR discussion just as you pull into your driveway, it doesn't cut out when you turn the engine off - - this works just as well if you're grooving on a song. oh, and the seat heaters are outstanding - - they come up to heat right away, and heat the back as well as the seat, which is not true of many Japanese cars (bottom seat only.)

As to the handling, well, it is not a TT by any means, and doesn't stand up to my previous A4 quattro, but on the other hand, the ride is MUCH better than the A4 (less abusive,) and the handling is far better than anything in the class except arguably the Mazda 3. having a six-speed automatic is a huge advantage over every other car in the category, which struggle along with four-speed autos that make the engines roar under acceleration. power is best described as "adequate," which means as long as you remember you are not in a super-car, you have more than enough to get on the highway, pass, and maneuver. the car is quiet, poised, has good brakes, handles predictably, and all in all, does exactly what a sedan should do - - back seat has tons of legroom (far more than A4) and is actually comfortable and has head room (no sloping roofline like so many cars including Mazda 3 sedan.) And the trunk! easily the most enormous trunk I have ever seen in a car - - which combined with folding back seat AND folding-flat passenger seat in front row, means you can carry almost anything in this car.

I think this car is a remarkable good deal and have no regrets so far - - and no problems in the first 1,000 miles.

As to chair movement: well, it is a bit odd to combine a power back with manual height and fore/aft - - but it beats the heck out of the usual crank knob, and allows driver to make quick adjustments without taking eyes off road or being distracted for 20 seconds while cranking the back around. If you don't like it, step up one level, spend the roughly $2k, and get the premium package.
