Cruise control won't work and cruise light on dash cluster is flashing.  

the light on the dash flashes when you try to engage your cruise control?  And it usually does not flash correct?  You could have a bad crusie control actuator or a leak in a vacumm hose running to the actuator.  

Checked for vacuum leak, also changed crusie control actuator and sevo motor for cruise control, still don't work.The cruise control light on the dash starts to flash as soon as I try to set the cruise on it.  

This could have something to do with the VSS sensor (vehicle speed).
Maybe if the vss signal somehow not getting to the ecu.  The ECU won't let the cruise set unless it knows vehicle speed.  I know my VSS got disconnected once and the cruise wouldn't set, and would surge all weird and freaky, up and down.  I know that sounds funny but hey, it was weird and freaky cause I was goin like 75 and trying to put the cruise on.  If the VSS goes, you should have no speedometer reading like 0 mph, and eventually a CEL I would expect, don't remember how many drive cycles it takes though.  Could also be a crapped fuse or ECU, maybe the cable is stuck on something? duh, you woulda seen that!
Maybe the switch itself on the dash is crapped no?  

This is also happening to my 99 nissan sentra cruise control.  Don't know why this started out of the blue.  Did you figure out the problem yet?  Will let you know if I am able to get it fixed.  Plan to take the car in to the shop in next few weeks anyway.  

Problem: Cruise control won't work and cruise light was flashing (Sentra 2001 GXE)
Cause: One of my brake light bulbs was dead
Solution: Brake light bulb was replaced, and cruise control became okay
Note: I did not know for certain that there was a connection until I had fixed the brake light. I was inspired by God to only ask fro the brake to be replaced and then check the cruise control after that. I was glad I listened to God's prompting.
