I was wondering what would hopefully be the easiest fix for my truck.  The trans. shift fine from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd.  But when it shift to 4th gear i get a vibration or chatter from the transmission.  Then going into OD it does the same thing.  I have changed the fluid and also added some Lucus trans. treatment that supposidly helps chatter.  Nothing has helped so far.  I spoke to a transmission mech. who told me that its the torque converter that is bad.  He said that the seal on the converter itself is aparently warn.  This warn seal is preventing the torque converter from locking out properly when when the vehicle reaches lockout speeds wish are right at the time 4th gear is ready to be shifted into.  And the same thing for OD.  Is this correct?  Im looking at simply buying a new Torque converter and replacing it.  Do yall think this would work?  I sure dont want to spend $1500 or $2000 for a new transmission job.  The TC would only run me about $100 and I can install it myself.  What do yall think?

No it is not the TC.  You more than likely have an internal problem.

Take it to your local trans shop and they will probably scan it for free and tell you what is wrong with it.

Good Luck!
