I have a 2001 Chevy S-10 extended cab regular short bed. I am planning to purchase 18 inch rims. (http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/searchWheelsByVehicleAndSize.do?mk=CHEVROLET&rc=FLOINT&yr=2001&wd=18&rcc=&rw=&vid=005237&bp=) Those are the rims.
I am wondering what size tires i will need for these rims. My orignal tires are P205/75/R/15. What size do I need for these rims?

A couple of questions for you.
1. You are going to bigger rims, but do you want bigger tires or roughly the same size?
2. Is this a 4x4 or a 4x2 truck? (i.e., what kind of tires are you looking for . . . off-road, performance, touring, or do you already have a specific brand/type of tire in mind)

If you are looking at street tires (performance or touring) and want to stick to basically the same height/size tire you have now, I would recommend the following:
Stock: 205/75R15 = 27.1"
Option 1: 205/55R18 = 26.9"
Option 2: 215/55R18 = 27.3"
Option 3: 225/50R18 = 26.9"
Options 2&3 are slightly wider (10mm is less than 1/2" and 20mm is a little over 3/4").
Also, when you look for new rims, make sure that you get the same offset and lug pattern.
---------------------------
If you are looking at taller tires, keep in mind that you can go slightly taller and wider, but the final height will affect your differential gearing . . . theoretically, taller tires will make you slower off the line, but give you a better top end on the highway (i.e., lower RPMs at a give speed). Oh, and it can affect your speedometer and mpg.
