Sweet! That is like the Fifth Gear where Schumacher races the Eurofighter.
The Audi may have lost by a nose, but I bet it got WAY better mileage doing it

these jet, car races almost always turn out the same way the car takes off and then the jet comes from behind and wallops the hell out of it

I haven't heard it in this thread, but most people have an unrealistic view of how fast fighter aircraft accelerate from brake release and are surprised when a car can outrun them for a good distance. And Audi really made sure they'd win this one. Harriers are notoriously slow from brake relaease because they can be. Who cares about a runway when you can take off vertically.

yeah race the audi against a top fuel dragster, in a quarter mile, it would just be embarasing... but i don't know why they always compare apples and oranges, i guess it just for the spectacle
