I have a 1986 ford E-150 van. I'm trying to reactivate the air conditioning system. I have the R-134 retrofit kit, vacumm pump. I have done several vehicals before but this one is giving me trouble. I bought the van several months ago. The compressor was locked up, the condenser had holes in it so I replaced them with an '85 E-150 parts I junkedthe van but the air worked in it while I was driving it so the parts should have been good. I also replace the expansion valve using the "85 van part. I pulled a vaccum, it took in 3 cans of refrigerant, stop leak, oil but inside the air was warm still. What can I look for as far as troubleshooting. The only thing I can think of is the evaporator is leaking or maybe the expansion valve is faulty. Can I test the valve?
I noticed when I refilled the system white frost formed on the line coming out of the reciever tank and also further down the line, then after a few minutes it turned into water droplets.

You need to put a sey of gauges on it. When you pulled the vac on it it should be held for at least 30 minutes. You may have a small leak in the system. Also look on the labels under the hood and it should tell you how much freon is required.
