With 500hp, you should be running a hell of a lot faster than a 13.1 with a trap speed of 112.2.

And the cruise range is only 210 miles with 16 gallons.

What the hell is Ford designing?

0-60 in 4.7 is pretty fast and you can also get 500 horses for around 45 grand, find me another car that you can go into a dealership and buy with that kind of power for 45 grand. i dont think they were keeping mileage in mind while designing this car, maybe i missed when a car became cool because it gets good mileage

I just figured the car would get more than 13 miles per gallon. There are other faster cars with better gas mileage. But to each their own.

Ford just throws in a big engine, but does not tune the suspension to handle it. It's cheap because its mainly the engine upgrade that your paying for!

Well consider this, in 1964, I owned a Ford "R" Code 427 w/ Dual Quads and 425 HP. The car posted nearly identical numbers for the quarter mile, and 0 - 60, but the ACTUAL mileage was 6 MPG City, 8 MPG Highway.    The car would pass anything but a gas station and the top end was an estimated 165 MPH. BUT, back then, premium hi octaine gasoline sold for less the $0.30 per gallon.

This new GT 500 gets a doubled boost in mileage because of modern technology of computer perfomance enhancements and multi-port EFI.    Gas has gone up 1000% and so did the vehicle price.   The 07 GT 500 cost is $45,000... I only paid $4500 for my 64 "R" Code.   That "R" Code could fetch anywhere for $100,000 to $250,000 today... too bad I no longer have it.

13 miles to the gallon for a ford anything is good. I remember my father always bought ford station wagons and was happy to get 10mpg

I agree

I considered a GT500 but decided that the 08 C6 Corvette was the best value in a American made sports car.  Check out the Delivery of my new Corvette at the National Corvette Museum.
