http://www.automobilemag.com/auto_shows/tokyo/0511_nissan_skyline_gtr/ A bit more up to date. I like the old boxy skyline bodies more. What do you think?

im already saving my money. im glad theyre going with the twin turbo VQ rather than v8 or other N/A power. i just hope the styling wont be as futuristic/concept-car-like for the production model. but i want one..now..

yeah, the overall looks will not change, but the small things will. like the monster grill will be more conventional, separated in two by the body (like the r34) making it less jetson/spacely sproket-like. other than that it should keep the proto's styling

Wow around 70k for a Japanese sports car! No Japanese sports car ever came close to this price range except the NSX! (Lexus SC is not a sports car)

i think since there keeping it as a nissan the gt-r shouldn't get in to the 70k range, at least i should hope not.

its aimed to compete against the 911 turbo, z06, ford gt, m6, and viper, so the price is appropriate. its been dubbed nissans supercar, and for what you get, i dont think its that unreasonable. you cant confuse the new american gt-r with the skylines of old. they are trying to create a supercar in the US, not a fast edition of a normal car (the skyline). this is the first gt-r that isnt based on the skyline, meaning it is its own car.

Interesting! Those are some really good points automotivedp. Nissan has to keep its hopes up that people will get over the brand while paying that price though. People in America are very biased... I don't think a Nissan Supercar will be attractive.

Nope. Not that good. But close. Things are just never as good as you would expect. You can plunk down 70k on a fine corvette with the best options etc... And when you get in it you will be like; What, no ash tray for 70K? No lighter? No floor mats? No sun-visor? No spare? etc... And you'd say "Damn if they couldn't put a more comfortable seat in here for 70K!" "This plastic looks cheap" etc.... So that was a no, it won't be as good as you think cause' nothin ever is! Go for that new Hyundai instead (300hp?) in fact, for that buy 3 of them and get a trunk and two more doors!
