The three-wheel roadster's been canned by VW who calculated the costs too high to comply to U.S. safety regs:

Personally, I never saw a market for this...thing...when I saw it at the L.A. Auto show.

damn...i actually wanted to see this come out in production. It seemed like it would be a nice little challenge for the Aerial Atom (even though the Aerial is much faster)

I can't really say as I'm suprised or disappointed. It was a bad idea from the beginning. It's only real hope was to steal business away from motorcycle manufacturers, which I don't hink many bike buyers would go for a three wheeler. It was dreamed up by Project Moonraker, another VW blunder. I find it very said that VW spent hundreds of thousands for marketing guys and engineers to pretend they were reality TV stars and all live in a house together in Malibu to figure what Americans really want in a car. Yeah, find out what the average American wants by living in Malibu.
