I'm currently driving a 1997 Mazda 626 with 170k miles, and have decided it's time to do a bit of an upgrade to something newer. (the Mazda has stopped being reliable, and I'd rather not put any more money into it.) I've sort of set myself on getting a convertible, and understand common issues involving leaking, engine noise, etc.
I am looking at spending around $9k-$10k, would prefer something 1999 or newer, with less than 70k miles. The miles and year could easily vary if I found something I'd like, but the price range needs to be around there.
Unfortunately, I really don't know what's "out there" in my range, what I should and shouldn't look for, etc. I've seen a huge amount of Chrysler Sebring Convertibles, but I don't have any idea if they are any good or not. In general, what would you recommend I look into?

since your looking for something reliable and in that price range, i would suggest a solara convertible. you can get a v6 (fairly nice power) along with great toyota reliability. a miata would be in that range, they are fun cars, but mazda reliability is an issue, as you have found out with the 626. the sebring will break alot more than the rest. they are not worth the money youll spend fixing them. they make great rental cars though. I'd look into a solara convertible. good luck, cheers
