One day while I had the cruise on I had to brake suddenly. After this, the transmission wouldn't shift up until I stopped turned the car off and turned it back on. It happened on one other occasion and I solved it by shutting the car off. This weekend I braked suddenly again, but the car died and now it won't turn over. Someone told me they thought it was the TCM and the car wasn't recognizing that it is in park so it won't allow the car to turn over. Any ideas?

The car is a 97. It won't start in neutral either. We tried to jump at the starter and the starter turns over fine. Just won't start.

I have a similar problem. My '98 ES has full power (radio, lights, etc.) but the ignition just 'clicks' once when I turn the key. My starter is relatively new and I just had to replace the crank sensor. I would like to try jump starting the starter, but I'm not really certain of where it's located. Any ideas?
