Springfield Ford lies to make the sale

This letter is to advise you that I plan on writing to every news source I can find, every Internet News Portal, and every newspaper to advise them how your company treats customers. If Ford claims that they have no affiliation with this organization, they should make sure the Ford name is removed from this place of business.

On June 20, 2006, I purchased a 2003 Ford Explorer Limited Edition from Bill Williams of Springfield Ford at 50 Baltimore Pike, Springfield, PA.

While my wife, my child and myself were looking at the vehicles on this lot, I saw the Explorer and checked it. However, I did not want to purchase this vehicle because the tires were bald. I stated this to Bill, and he said, “We can put new tires on it if you want!”

I think the asking price was $14,500.

After he said this, I decided to take the truck for a ride.  We left that night, and decided it was too much.  A half hour later, Bill called us at home and said he wanted the sale. The new tires were brought up, and a price of $12,000.00 was offered.

After my wife and I spoke about it, we decided to buy it. We did, and bought the truck for $12,000.00. We also traded in my 2000 Ford Ranger, which they gave me $3500 for. It was 9:30 at night, and the tires had to be ordered.  I never even had the detailing done on this vehicle.

It has been 8 days since our purchase, and the car has been in the shop a total of 5 days.  Both times because the air-conditioner did not work. I had it at the shop on the second day after purchasing it, and they kept it, saying they fixed it.

After I picked it back up, I drove it right back an hour later because there was no change (absolutely) no change in the air-conditioner. This time they had it from Friday to Monday afternoon.

Today, (Tuesday), I called Bill about the tires. He said he didn’t recall stating that.  Then he said that he did in fact recall saying it, but since they lost so much money on the sale(Which is BS), they wouldn’t do it.   Then, he went back to saying he never said that.

I may not be able to do anything from a legal standpoint about this because I stupidly never got anything in writing about the tires, but I can in fact let every single news portal, and every person I know aware of Ford’s dealings.

Why in the world would I trade in a truck with newer tires for a truck with bald tires that wont even pass inspection (barely). I would never have purchased this vehicle with $800 worth of tires to have to be purchased.

I will never stop emailing this story to everyone.  I think Ford did a dirty trick and if they lied to me, they will lie to others as well.

FROM CAR BUYING TIPS:

Robert:

How bald are those tires?  If you take it to any tire store and have them
measure the tread.

IF it's below legal requirements, you can get the dealer in trouble for
selling illegal tires on the car.

Also, file a complaint on bbb.com, and your state attorney general web site,
and on ripoffreport.com.  Be factual in all statements, not emotional.

As you have already heard from carbuyingtips.com, have the tread depth measured to see if they sold you a car with tires below the legal limit.

Call Ford's customer service line, tell them you will hold them responsible if anything happens that can even remotely be linked to the tires. Let them know you are already thinking about the possible law suit. I am pretty sure at this point Ford never wants to hear the words SUV, Tire and lawsuit in the same sentence again. Keep bugging them, talk to everyone you can at the dealership, eventually they will get tired of dealing with you.

For your sake, I hope you have another place to get the vehicle serviced. If not, they will find a way to make the money back from the tires.

Sorry for your bad expierience, but to save you allot of time and heart ache your beef is with the dealer not Ford Motor Company.  Ford has nothing to do with a used car sale.  The Ford Franchises are independently owned and operated.  FDord will probablytell you in a polite way that this is something you need to discuss with the selling dealer.

Did you sign a "As is No Warranty" sticker?

Ah!  I spoke to Ford Co and they told me they had not5hing to do with it.  My question would have to be......why would they allow the FORD name to be used then?

Are you telling me that people that buy cars from FORD know that Ford Company won't back any problems they have??  WRONG!   I spoke to 25 people about this, and all 25 said they don't understand why FORD COMPANY would say they have nothing to do with SPRINGFIELD FORD.

Of course they are all independently owned.  But they have the FORD name.

Because Ford warrants a new vehichle.  Each independent dealer decides which used vehichle they will bring into inventory and deem fit to sell.  It would be impossible for Ford Motor Company employee to personaly inspect every used car sold in the country.  Like I said I am sorry for your bad expierience but your beef is with the dealer not FOMOCO.

Hi Roberth,

Ford truly does have nothing to do withis transaction. Check your purchase order, depending on what state you live in, most retailers have to gaurentee state inspection.. (Sorry for any bad spelling)

Okay, I think it may be over  (My nightmare that is, not the complaints I will post about Bill Williams or Ford).
After I had the car for 35 days, and it was brought back for repairs for the 7th time, I spoke with Dan Dellamarie, supposingly a manager up at Springfield Ford.  He said I should not have to go through this.

He said he was going to speak to the owner about me trading in the lemon they sold, and we would then buy a different car.

I have since traded the car into Pontiac and purchased a brand new 2007 G6 which I am thrilled with. Did I mention that its 2 weeks later and Im still waiting for Dan Delemaries call to see if we can trade it in?   Nope, he lost this battle.  Im bad mouthing Ford whenever I get the chance.

Pontiac gave me what I bought the car for from Ford, and I have vowed to never stop turning people off Springfield Ford until they go out of business.  They are a sham.

When I was there for the 6th time, they said they found a problem (as to why the truck was now stalling at ever light).  I drove it off the parking lot and stalled outside the ford store right on baltimore pike.  The technicians there know nothing.  The salesmen at Ford are all liars and the GM and owner are bozo's who got rid of a lemon to an unsuspecting buyer.

The tires were changed by Ford because they wouldn't have passed inspection. They sold the car like this, but then say they would have in fact passed inspection.   I had a mechanic check it.  They are liars.

When I was talking with another saleman, he told me that no one up at Springfield Ford likes Bill Williams because he lies a lot. Mr. Dan Dellamrie stated the same thing.  Why then, is hestill with Ford?

Ford sucks.

Sorry you got a lemon. You still don't seem to get the distinction between Ford and a dealer, though. Your beef is with the dealership, not with Ford. They have absolutely nothing to do with your used car purchase. Ford allows them to use their name because they sell their new cars. They can also sell used cars from Ford, Chevy, or anyone else but Ford corporate has absolutely nothing to do with that. As for the tires, it's a lesson learned - never never never take a car dealer's word that they will do something post-sale. ALWAYS get it in writing. Always. They aren't all liars but you have to protect yourself.
