Playing a DVD at SRX Cadillac car

Hi to you all;

I am new to the forum and I am sure I will enjoy it.. I have 2 questions for you.. I usually record my favorite shows using a Sony RDR-GX7 DVD Recorder , When I play any show of them using the DVD player in my SRX Cadillac car it playes for 2Min only then it freezes !!  which format and which kind of blank DVD should I use ?
Last question ( soorrry ..) is there any way to play mp3 cd's in the SRX car ..?
