Ford Windstar AX4N problem... Delayed reverse, sometimes...

I have a 2001 Windstar. When it sits for a few hours and I get in it, start the motor and drop it in reverse, the transmission slips for about 10 seconds. On the other hand, if I let it idle for 10 seconds or so, it does not slip at all. This only happens when the van has sit without runninig for a few hours, and then it doesnt always happen. It probably occurs about 90% of the time. Any ideas?
A few Facts: the fluid level is correct. Last week I took this to a transmission shop. They could not duplicate the problem, but at my request tore the transmission down. They replaced the seals, bushings, a Sonnox hardened stater support with bushings, torque converter bushings, pump bearings, crankshaft pilot sleeve gasket and seals, filter and mercron V fluid, an engagement valve, the forward clutch molded piston, seating rings, put in a Trans Go Valve Body kit. I think that was it. I copied most of this off the bill. They are a very reputable transmission shop he is a good christian man who I have a great deal of respect for. It is an AX4N transmission. The van only has 79,000 miles. If there is anything else I can tell you, please let me know. I could really use some help on this one. The van is back in the shop and he cant make the thing mess up! It makes me look like a fool!

Before you start the vehicle check the transmission fluid level and make a note of its level. Now start the van and see if it delays into reverse. If it seems to delay when the level is higher on the dipstick install a anti-drainback valve into the return cooler line. This helps keep the converter full and eliminates the delay.

Hey I like the idea about the anti-drainback valve. I have thought for some time that the torque converter is simply leakingdown. I just drove the van on vacation, a little over 2500 miles, with no problems, other than it still has the delayed reverse.
My problem now is that I cant find the anti-drainback valve for the transmission line. Do you know where I can find it? I appreiciate your input!

The anti-drainback valves can be ordered through most transmission shops from Transtar. The 5/16 line is part #96-200C and the 3/8 line is part #96-200D.
