Not true. Salesmen don't get paid on holdback or incentives. That's the owners money. A good car salesman can easily make over $100k a year, but not selling at invoice. Usually the good ones stick to the used cars. Even so, the customers can still get a good deal, as long as the used car manager does his/her job and buys the used cars right. Not sure why people think a car dealer should only make $200 on a car that cost $30000.
