I need to replace the pcv valve on my 2001 Mercury Cougar, but I can't find it. Does anyone know where it is located?

Dear Bryant: Concerning the PCV valve on your Mercury Cougar, I have the same model year and cannot find it. Neithe can the techs at Ford, who told me it was beneath the intake manifold, so  I took the upper manifold off, and no valve. I do not think it is beneath the lower manifold. However, it IS in the vapor management line, which suggests that it should be traceable from the PCV pipe leading from the throttle body. Plese advise if you get an answer to this question. Robert.
