Help! I have been trying to diagnose a recurring problem with my 1996 GP 3.1 L w/ Auto transmission (98,000 miles).

It seems to run fine at idle, at all RPM's, however, when under normal driving load, it has a terrible hesitation upon acceleration. I have also noticed that sometimes when I gas it hard, the RPM will actually drop about 500-700 RPM before it starts to increase. Other times, it will almost stall before taking off. It seems as if it is "stuck" in a higher gear at times, and cannot get to lower one. I have experienced this problem when manually shifting through the gears as well.

I have replaced the plugs, wires, and coil packs (it needed that, anyways, but didn't fix the problem). I have also heard about this TCC solenoid that can be disabled by pulling the plug from the tranny. I am not sure which one of the plugs was for the TCC, but I tried them all one at a time and the problem was still there.

The odd thing is that there is no error code being pulled from the ECM.

Any other suggestions as to what it might be or any similar experiences would be appreciated.
