Uh, didn't Mitsubishi try something like this a few years ago?

DaimlerChrysler AG's Chrysler Group is finalizing a plan to bring back employee discounts for the masses and is adding a new twist -- customers who are unhappy with their vehicles can return them within 30 days, according to dealers and company officials.

The "Slightly Used Vehicle Sale" will make the employee pricing thing look like nothing. What are they going to do with all those returned vehicles? Pawn them off to rent a car companies maybe. I forsee lots full of cars with those Best Buy "open box" stickers on them.

so they're going to end up with full lots of cars no one wants to buy? ... right back to where they started, seems like a vicious cycle

Depending on how expensive the penalty/mileage fee is, I wouldn't mind driving a Chrysler 300 SRT8 for a month. But chances are, their fees are going to be steep because Daimler Chrysler would not want to deal with thousands of used cars with a few hundred miles on them.
