Lincoln offering $8,000 in rebates on outgoing LS sedan

Topped by a doubling of the maximum customer rebate on the Lincoln LS sedan, Ford Motor Co. pushed several of its buyer bonuses upward last week. The LS giveback now is $4,000 to $8,000; it had been $3,000 to $4,000.

Next in line is the Lincoln Town Car, which brings $6,500 to $7,000. The low end is up $500

Personally, I've always liked the LS and would jump on the above deal if I were in the market. I'll be curious to see if Ford replaces it.

I briefly drove the Fusion while attending the San Diego Auto Show. Nice drive; felt very import-ish including needing more torque. (I think I got spoiled by my Accord hybrid's near-instant power.)

I wouldn't buy a Ford if they cut the price in half. The build quality for Ford has gone done the drain. Their cars have very little style and the interior is filled with cheap plastic. Ever since the tire recall, Ford has been losing a lot of business because buyers are questioning the reliability of cars. I learned to drive on a 91 Ford Taurus and the engine literally exploded when I was driving over the grapevine. Oil and water was everywhere. Ford should make cheap RWD cars with lots of power!!!

Accord's a mild hybrid with the electric motor boosting the regular ice instead of being the primary engine like a Prius.

the V6 is below 20K and has 210hp, I don't think I would buy one, but hey rear drive, relatively quick.

the V8 is under 25K, what else can you get with 300hp for anywhere near that price?

Alright fine, your proved me wrong. haha

Ford does have a cheap, powerful, RWD car. But I was thinking of having a car similar to the Focus with; RWD, turbo I4, and a 6 SPD for all under 20k. By doing this, Ford will be able to sell more vehicles but will yield less profit from each car. This effort will be more effective than not selling any vehicles. Very similar to dodge's effort with the SRT-4.
