mini truckers as a cohort...

One interesting observation as I see it is that mini truckers make up a cohort, or a group of people sharing a common factor such as the same AGE (in this case).
They are a younger group, I'd say from the time of getting a driver's license to around 30ish (give or take of course).  Look around; they majority will fall into this category right off the bat.
Why does mini truckin' seem to be characterized by a particular group?
Mini trucks are not expensive (relative to other vehicles).  They can be picked up for several hundred dollars sometimes, in relatively good condition.  From here they provide a nice canvas for the young, expressive, self-exploring individuals to be creative, different, and rebellious.  Many take pride in tickets and in "pissing" people off and in expressive clothing and everything else that fits into that category.  They are GROWING UP and that's what can be expected.  Dragging, hopping... of course an energetic, ADD kid is gonna dig that.  Mini trucks are not "status" vehicles, so there is less risk and loss involved in modifying one.  Basically, they are what a young generation realistically have access to and can afford to play around with.  If the warranty is up and there isn't much resale value in particular, then why not go for it?!
As the cohort grows up, funds increase, and minis can then be replaced by more *** bucks-up projects, or bigger mods on the mini.  A new cohort replaces these moved-on-mini-truckers.
It makes sense.  Of course you'll see grandparents with mini trucks and young kids with classy/status rides, but I'm talkin about the majority of mini truckers.
So instead of judging minitruckers, try to understand where they're coming from.  And recognize that not ALL minitruckers fit that mold, because I'm a minitrucker and I don't....

that sounds very similar to the import tuners, and just about every other car group. it's all downhill once you get your license and a ride.
