is it a regular needle type gauge? if it is, you can simply open the gauge cluster, remove the needle, and re-install it in at the right level.  i had my gauge cluster apart in my old car and put the needle too high by accident.  so i thought i had more gas than i really did, i figured out it was wrong when i ran out of gas, lol

In the 2004 Passat GLX, where and how is the fuel gauge adusted?  The sender unit is OK, but the gauge will not register completely full

There is a way to adjust the needle approximately + or - 1 deviation without distmantling the cluster.  This is what I am inquiring about.
