20001 Buick Century air filter replacement

What am I missing? Released 2 top clips, loosened flexible hose to engine... cover does nor release... is there other screw/clip/? to be loosened?

usually there are 4 clips on the sides of the of the air box,  sometimes there is a screw, other times it is just two clips on the very top of the box  that hold a small section for the air filter on.  But it sounds like you have the 4 clips on the side since you had to disconnect the breather hose.  Look around for more clips or a screw, you'll find it.

I have seen a few cars recently that use clips on one side and then tabs that are molded into the box on the opposite side(Apparently 4 clips was way over budget). Once you get the clips off the tabs will require you to twist the airbox lid a little to get them out of the slots. It sometimes requires a little BFF to get the tabs out of the slots. I know this is just about worthless without pics, but you may have to just keep playing with it.
