The new Jaguar coupe looks really nice, like an Aston Martin. However, I have stopped liking Jaguar as a make ever since it was bought by Ford. What are your opinions of Jaguar now?

i agree with you, the quality isnt the same. thats what happens when companies are bought by american companies - look at mazda, range rover, jaguar, etc etc

well Jaguars have lost most of their soul since they have been bought by Ford. They now have shared parts, they don't have the hand built feel of older Jags and most upsettingly Ford did the unthinkable. Jags seem to run now. That was always one of the charms of owning a Jag is knowing that more than likely it was going to break every 500-800 miles. The English love an excuse for a spontaneous picnic.
Seriously though, I am not sure where exactly Jag is going. They have been a luxury brand for the last 25 years. It seemed like their target was Benz. Now it seems like they are shooting to be the mainstream Aston Martin. So now that they have sold out to another company they are finding their roots. Well I hope it means a return to Le Mans.
