Can you help please a 1988 Dodge Caravan with automadic transaxle.
When shift into reverse engine stay's running, But when I shift the trans into First,Second,or drive the engine stalls right away.
I can restart it no problem put try to sheft back into any forward gears it will stall right a way.
Could this becaused by the Lock-up Solenoid that sits on the side of the transmission.  Trouble Code comes up as # 37.
P.S. It is like the torgue converter in direct drive & the trans locks into gear & stalls the engine.   Thank you if you can help.

you have 3 speed trans? just unplug the lock up connector on the case right next to the filler tube so lock up wont come on you may have a bad lock/up switch or wiring or a stuck lock/up valve in the valve body. if you need more help let me know.

You may have a bad converter.

Take it to your local trans shop, they will probably scan it for free and tell you what is wrong with it.

Good Luck!
