My son has a 1996 Dodge Avenger with the 2.0L engine. We had the motor changed and now it idles rough when it is sitting still.(800RPM) If you drive the car, take it out of gear and coast, it idles a little high but fine.(1100RPM)It seems to be loading up. any ideas? We have already changed the Idle spped motor.

could you explain what you mean by ideling rough? Generally a car will idle a little higher when moving then when sitting still.

It idles with a lope. Reminds me of my V8 Chevy with 11-1 pistons, off road cam, and 850 carb.
