Here's an interesting aftermarket gadget. Moves your rear-view mirrors when you flip your turn signal or press a button:

Wonder, though, if it could affect warranties. I'd also add rear sensors or cameras especially if I owned an SUV.

wow 250 bucks, I think one of those licky sticky parabolic stick on mirrors that they keep between the snickers bars and folding knives on the counter at Pepboys will do the same thing without all the wiring.
I think I will just keep head checking thanks.

I would NOT stick a parabolic mirror on a BMW 5 or 7 Series. That would make me look, well, cheap

But you would tear into your Bimmers factory wiring harness to install that thing? Especially on a Bimmer with multiplexed wiring. you would end up flipping your turn signal on and the trunk would pop open and CDs would shoot out of the dash.
Again I will stick with head checking, even in a 7 series where the rear corner is fifteen feet behind me haha

I live in Detroit and have this on my BMW318. It is great! It even has a speed modifications to make my mirrors move faster and to answer someone else's question it has an upgrade called ParkFX that essentially does the same thing as a back up sensor. It moves the mirrros down (like in my Lexus) so I can see the curb or something / someone in my rear area (but not directly behind my car).
Check it out at http://www.lanefx.com/features/
I too would never stick a parabolic mirror on my BMW or any other car for that matter. They look cheap and detract from the beauty of the vehicle itself.

Hello to all,
Awesome feedback. A couple of notes from the LaneFX FAQ (and some editorial from me): - LaneFX works on any vehicle w/ power mirrors inc. heavily multiplexed vehicle and vehicles with reverse polarity. There are LaneFX's on the road in $9K Kia Rio's to the record-setting-number-of-ECU's $90K 740iL.
- Fisheye stick-on mirrors not only impact the look of your car negatively, but the also severely distort your side rear view. The valuable mirror surface real estate was heavily-optimized by the manufacturer for your safety. A 2" fish-eye sharply convex mirror takes approx. 30% of the real estate of an X5 mirror (my approximation). Also fish-eye stick-on's do not have any capability for glare absorption during night driving. Lastly, keep in mind the only useful part of those mirror's is the outer fringe pointing away from the vehicle. On a 2" stick-on, that's less than .5" in usable surface.
Cheers.

I wouldn't but I would let professionals do it with the guarantee my car's still working right afterwards
