My brother has a 2003 Passat and after he took the car to get an oil change, from someone other than the dealer the under car spoiler fell off and was dragging under the car, appearently the Oil Change shop had broken the clips and just left it hanging. He ended up taking it to our normal mechanic who used straps to keep it on. Has anyone else had problems similar to this with volkswagen?

When the single use nylon zip ties were first invented they decided to call them wire ties because they were used primarily for holding wires together. I understand last year they were considring changing the name to Volkswagen Ties.
Joking aside, I know several people that have torn the front spoiler off their VWs, usually it is becase they are really low and/or have installed the European front spoiler which sits about 3/4 inch lower than the US spoiler. I would imagine the guys at Lube'n Screw probably ran it into the metal edge that sticks up around the pit they use to hide in while they strip the head of your drain plug and cross thread your filter. Sounds like a perfect time to upgrade to an aftermarket front spoiler. Oettinger or Reiger maybe?

Over the years there is one thing i've learned dont let anyone touch your car unless they specialize in vw or audi. They are a bunch of gm idiots who dont understand vw.
