I just felt compelled to post my problem again... becasue when I made a post it didn't show up on the board listing... and then I just thought maybe I made a mistake and go to post it again someplace else.  Maybe this is part of the problem with mutiple posts.

check for codes with a scan tool.....

if you can get a scan tool that displays live data.. here is a chart that shows what the data should be on most gm's

http://repairguide.autozone.com/znetrgs/repair_guide_content/en_us/images/0900c152/80/06/7e/6a/large/0900c15280067e6a.gif

i would start looking also for vacuum leaks...   possibly from the power brake booster..    blown out intake manifold plenum gaskets..

Maybe take a look at the Interior lights, Make sure the doors shut all the way, make sure the radio goes off ECT. Sound like you have a draw, that is killing the battery when the car sits for a few hours. Make sure everthing on the vehicle shuts off when you exit from driving. Make sure you dont have a cheap battery like the ones that are "built to last".Auto Repair is not cheap, so if you want to make a few checks before the dreaded Auto Repair shop visit, You may be able to skip plan B. Also Check your battery connections and engine grounds.
