I'm an owner of a 2000 Chevy Silverdo p/u and the "Service Engine Soon" light just came on today. I have a OBD II reader and the code that it registered was (P1415) Which to the book it means "System Air Bank 1" does anyone know what or how that could be fixed.
Thanks, RickRodjr

That issue is due to a REV Limiter... therefore the engine doesn't blow...

I have 1996 GMC K1500 that gets poor gas mileage,13 mpg.  I have put new plugs and it runs good and doesn't skip. I am the second owner. The only problem it has ever had was a transmission and it was replaced with a genuine GMC transmission by the serial number.  It was getting 17 to 19 mpg per its original owner but now I am lucky if I can get 13 mpg.  Is there anything that can help me to get better gas mileage?

you could have actually stared a new thread...   a bunch of people would post their questions in several sections.. and all would show up individually here.. looking like multiple posts...

so a little more info is needed...

which engine...  has your area started with the ethanol fuel 10 to 15 percent????  that will reduce the fuel economy...

ethanol has less btu than gasoline...

dirty fuel filters... tired oxygen sensors...  leaking vacuum hoses... blown power brake booster... leaking intake manifold gaskets...  fuel pressure regulators going bad...    clogged fuel injectors... even on vortec motors...   aftermarket tuning chips... yes.. those reduce fuel economy.. they increase power... put in more timing and fuel...  hurts economy...

lower tire pressures... change of tire diameters...  not all tire size changes will hurt fuel economy.. but they will throw off the odometer reading...

front wheel alignment..     if the tires are wearing when you pull your hand across with highs and lows on each tread row... you may have a suspension problems... tow out usually.. rarely toe in...   the camber can also affect the mileage.. as the tires are loaded heavier on one side than the other...  with even distribution of weight across the thread.. the tire will have less rolling resistance...

harbor freight and others have large fuel pump vacuum gauges...... tee that into a manifold vacuum port... learn to drive at the highest vacuum...  most parts stores have small versions that can be installed in brackets.. but they are kind of small to read while driving...   i have taped them to some friends lower left corner of the windshields... left them there a few days.. they really learned...

now.. you  said that the fuel mileage was reduced when you took owner ship and the transmission was changed...

which motor do you have...   you said that was a gm factory reman.. so it probably has the proper torque converter...

that would be a big problem that would hurt mileage and performance..   too low a stall with a smaller motor... require more throttle to get going... wasting gas...  too high a stall converter requires the engine speed to be higher than it takes to get the truck moving...

how much weight do you carry...

do you live in a hilly area... drive on streets ... in heavy traffic...   verses cruising on the freeway at a steady speed...

if you have to drive the freeway... in traffic... lay back a bit...don't rush up and stop  when traffic slows...  take your foot off the gas.. and slow down so when you get there.. the traffic surge infront of you has started up...  you won't believe how well this works....

so many things it could be...    and dozens more i have not mentioned...

i looked around the sites i know about...
i did not see anything except the stock so far...

every muffler shop in the country can install a big mouth tip on the existing exhaust...

there is probably a lot of stuff in the works..      contact the different exhaust suppliers.. sometimes they need a car to build a prototype on...
