I have a 1989 Nissan Pickup with a worn out 5 speed manual transmission. This is a 4 cyl 2 wheel drive. Can I replace it with a 4 speed manual transmission? IF so what does in entail?

I have a 2005 Dodge Stratus,automatic trans and 60000 Miles.
I am getting a check engine light.  The trans seems to stop at 3rd gear. I can't go over 40 MPH.  The RPM's go way up. Sometimes the speedometer just stops working. A mechanic looked at it. He thought it was a sensor. He said he replaced it but it didnt fix the problem.
He said its prob a short somewhere.  Has anyone heard of similar probelems ?  

hi, i have 1996 chrisler sebring. who has a transmission problem, when i began to run the transmision bumps then it stays at 40 MPH i can't go faster, does anybody knows whats wrong. i hope it will be just a wire or something small.  

I have a 2001 Ford Focus ZX3 4.0 with manual transmission. The transmission began slipping slightly then it stopped completely. It will rev up to 5-7 rpms but doesn't move. Originally, it would accelerate to 20-30 mph, but will not move now. Does anyone know if this is a problem with the car? Or just mine. It drove fine 6 mos ago and had 64k miles on it.  

I have a 00 lincoln ls w/ 5R55N transmission w/ long delay in reverse and have checked all the obvious pistons,vb,sol,rev switch,mlp,servo,any ideas???

I have a 2003 Sable.   The car last night while I was driving 55 mph stopped in gear.   I drifted the car to the safety spot on the highway.   Had car towed to dealer.   The tac would rev up but car wouldn't move.   The dealer said this AM no line pressure and something about haudralic (sp?) not working.   Rather than pay to search transmission for problem which would cost $600+, best to put new trans. in car.  Car has 59,000 miles.   Ball bearings were replaced 9/29/08.  Should I replace transmission at a cost of $2900.00?  Sorry but I'm not very knowledgeable about car terms.  Sorry but didn't know how to post a new problem.  

I HAVE A 93 CADILLAC SEVILLE.  THIS MORNING WHEN I STARTED HER UP, THE SHIFTER COLUMN LOCKED UP COULDNT SHIFT OUT OF PARK.  I TRIED ENGAGING AND RELEASING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE A FEW TIMES BUT THAT DIDN'T DO ANYTHING.   ANY SUGGESTIONS  

hey the step son has a 94 ford ranger with a 4.0 he messed up the 5 speed trans -so i took it out and and attempting to rebuild it-i cant get the main shaft apart help help

I have a 1994 Silverado with a 4L60e transmission and when the truck runs for just a few min. it will not move.If it is cold it will move till it gets warm.Does anyone have any ideas
