My 01 24v taurus misfires terribly when wet. It will not stall but runs rough. I had this problem 2 years ago and replaced the wires and the plugs and it went away. I did notice before all this rain, that the motor ran rough when I put the a/c on. Now that it has been raining it is worse. The engine light has is blinking and the car has 120k miles on it. Any help?

More information. Autozone did a diagnostic read, and came up with #3 misfire, said it was the plug, or wire or coil pac. Coil pac is $150, any idea if this is a common problem with the coil pac?...before I buy?

Are you sure its fixed? I would make sure you dont have any other codes which are making your cel stay on. Take it to autozone and have the codes read....
But if you must know, you can either pull your ecu fuse or disconnect your battery cable for a couple minutes.

The light came off on its own, when I filled up the gas tank!

You probably have driven it through 3 drive cycles since you replaced the coil. If you have and the pcm doesn't see any problems , it will turn the light off.
