The motor and tranny are from a 1983 New Yorker. The transmission is full of oil and when I start the car, no oil pumps thru the transmission lines. Could it just be the pump, or is it a bigger problem?

Is there a valve conected to the shift linkage that diverts pump pressure back into the pan?
Did you see my post about the fellow from some foreign land looking to give us his money?

Does the car drive at all?
If it does you are probably ok. There is no circulation in Park on that year.
Fluid level is checked idling in neutral.
