I recently purchased a 2003 Rav4 (4cyl)from my neighbor with 19,500 miles in great condition.

After a bit of driving it sounds like either moths are under my hood or little pebbles are trying to get out.  Anybody out there have a Rav4 and have experienced this, meaning it is just normal or is it something that is serious and I need to address.

I am a silly female and am sure I didn't quite explain that right.  Hopefully one of you wonderful motorheads can help!

try putting a higher octane gas in it and see if the noise still persists.  Does this noise occur more frequenty in certian driving conditions?
