My 93 Suzuki Sidekick JX 4x4 has been a great beater car, it has served me well for the 14 years I have owned it (purchased new) it has 167000 miles on it and has only ever had one issue to this point, (Burnt valve at 85000 miles). MY current problem is this. I was low on gas so I pulled into station, shut of the car filled it with gas and then it would not start. Just crank over but never fire.
It will run if you dump some gas in carb and continue running as long as you keep your foot on the gas. Once you stop care dies and will not restart. Took it to a local mechanic and he told me that both the ECU and the Throttle Body injector were bad and it was going to cost over $1000.00 to repair it, much as this car has served me well it is not worth that much.
Could both of these have gone bad at the same time by just turning off the engine. Oh as a side note the mechanic offered me $500.00 for the car as is because he had a friend that needed a new body for his sidekick.
Any input would be greatly accepted weather good or bad.

this sounds like a feul pump problem to me take it to another shop
