I have a 2000 lincoln continental with fwd. When its cold it seems to shift pretty hard as if there was a shift kit in it. I just bought it. After it warms up the shifting gets a lot smoother. The fluid is full. Is this normal or do I have something to worry about. Thanks for any help Tony

thanks for checking. I went and did a search on google and found a link directing to this site but in the general repair section. some mentioned partially clogged tranny filter. The others suggested a bad cylinoid.

Listen to the trans at an idle, if its making a buzzing noise then its probably high line pressure. The pressure control solenoid would be my guess.
