The BMW 3 Series is being showcased for the 1st time at the NY Auto show. I have always admired BMW design and their new designs keep them favored in my book.

 

i think this is sharp. bmw has a real problem and that is that cars like the new Acura TL as well as the new VW Jetta and Passat and maybe he Audi a4 are all gunning for the 3 series - and mercedes has dropped down in price with the newer cheaper series to attack the 3 series franchise which is entry level euro luxury - a segment that BMW has dominated for a long time.

when you think about - the same customer who buys a 3 series really isnt considering an US makes, not a bland asian car like a toyota or nissan and what has that left historically for competition? saab? volvo? vw jetta and passat but they have been kinda cheap looking and still nowhere near the brand value-

BUT with vw increasin quality and with others gunning for them - bmw is smart to get ahead and redesign now







 

the new 3 series its a sweet car, i like it, just the tailights dosent convince me yet... but the jetta and the passat??? please.. those cars are not rivals for the 3 series, they both have a lot to learn from the 330i, and at any price Id go with the feeling and performance and quality of the BMW anyday, ohh.. but the new C class from mercedes ( i think that will be introduced in mid 2007) will be a pain in the *** cause they are looking to beat the sportiness and quality of the 3 series... who knows.. we will have to wait and see..
