what is the main difference between a turbocharger for diesel engines and the ones that people use in car tunning and street racing? I mean, can I buy a turbocharger at a diesel engine store and put it in a normal gasoline engine..?
thanks for helping...

Size.  The bigger the turbo, the longer it takes to spool up and build boost - hence the twin turbo setup; same boost, but it builds it in a fraction of the time.

there is no difference between the turbos you run on diesel engines and turbo engines. you can problably find a turbo at a deisel engine store small engouh to fit your application.  But fitting your application correctly gets alot more complicated then, picking a small size turbo. Ill post details later, im to busy right now
