Working on a 1994 4Runner. Have replaced master cylinder and still cannot get fluid to the wheels. I can blow through with an air hose. With the lines off the fluid comes (shoots out) out of the master cylinder when pedal is depressed.
Having a nervous breakdown, please help! Been working ont his vehicle for over 6 hours!

sounds like you have a leak in a line.  If your car has a abs system check all the connections there, look for any brake fluid seepage and double check to see if all connections are tight.  also check all your connections from the master cylinder to the lines.

We bypassed the abs system and can't find any fluid leaking from the lines. We are both master mechanics and can't believe something so stupid is giving us such hell!

can you not get fluid to any of the wheels?

Maybe you have a kink in one of the hard lines?  If you guys are master mechanics, you are way beyond my car knowledge, but I will still try and help since its always good to have an outside source

Could there be a blockage at the proportioning valve ?

this system does not have a proportioning valve. It has a level valve in the rear. When i blow air into it it flows out so it doesn't seem to be blocked. I left the bleeders open over night and get even get fluid dripping.

did you guys pressure bleed the system from the master cylinder?

did you say no fluid is coming out of the calipers/bleed screws? I've had air get stuck in the calipers before too. I've seen some deposits/crud get stuck and block the passage going to the bleed screws. I had to remove the bleed valves, and poke through the calipers on some older cars to get the fluid going through. then i sprayed some brake cleaner through the valves to clean them out. ON cars older than 10 years that never had their brake systems bled/flushed, i usually count on having to do this, especially on the rear passenger side valves.

The odds are the same for 2 bad as 1 bad, you just happened to win the lotto on this one. Who is the manufacturer?
